Infant Mortality Reduction Consortium is a group of providers and community members interested in addressing community interventions to reduce infant mortality. The Shaken Baby Syndrome Hospital Education Program was continued this year. The consortium assisted in securing funding through the Children's Miracle Network for the Project Moses beds last year. This project was initiated to assist families with safe sleep spaces for infants. These beds continued to be distributed this year. Bereavement services were also identified as a priority by the Consortium and recommended to NCPPC to support development and training of these services as much as possible. NCPPC assisted Hospice of Jefferson County to submit a grant application to the CJ Foundation for funding to provide Perinatal bereavement services, coordination of services, referral to services, and training. The application was funded. The IMR Consortium will serve as an advisory group for Hospice in this endeavor.
