JSLAPPS is funded through the New York State Office of Children and Family Services Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention and Services Grant. The funding provided an array of comprehensive services in Jefferson and St. Lawrence Counties to an at-risk, pregnant and parenting population. JSLAPPS entered its final year of funding in April 2006. A competitive RFP has been completed and submitted to the Office of Children and Family Services.

Services were provided through five subcontractors: Carthage Central School, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County, St. Lawrence County Health Initiative, North Country Adolescent Outreach and Watertown City Schools. Services offered include: mentoring and parenting programs, peer support groups, prevention programming, adventure based activities, tutoring, after-school clubs, skill workshops around decision making, communication and problem solving, intensive case management, infant care and transportation to services. A diverse community council whom are responsible for developing and evaluating initiatives to address adolescent pregnancy issues guides JSLAPPS.
